Our radiologists use ultrasound guidance to identify the exact spot for steroid injection into your joint or tendon (as opposed to 'going in blind').
Steroids are often injected directly into joints to treat conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or other inflammatory diseases. Cortisone injections can offer fast-acting relief of inflamed muscles, tendons and bursa.
In most cases, the needle used is very small so there's no need to worry if you have a needle phobia.
Steroid injections are performed at our Henderson, Northcote and Sylvia Park clinics.
